THIRD AND McDOUGAL IN THE RAIN, 1996 This painting depicts a corner in the West Village, Greenwich Village, that is very dear to me. I sold my art on this corner for many years. That flaming red, orange and yellow place is a Pizzeria, where I consumed many a slice. The blue and purple awning is a Jazz club. Down the block is where Bob Dylan, Jimmy Hendrix and many others got their start. This painting is full of color, life, power, movement and vibrancy. The first print I ever sold of this painting was to a woman who happened to be on her way to meet her husband for their anniversary. She was on her way to meet him at that Jazz Club! Because that is where they first met!! And we weren't even near that place, but on the Upper West Side, miles away! What an anniversary present. Sometimes, life is good! ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING
