CROSSED TRACKS, 1996 The Subways of New York City are an awesome thing. The cars that have windows in the front that you can look out of are becoming scarcer. But when you get one, you can see amazing things. Strange little ladders leading to mysterious blue lights; steps leading to platforms dimly lit; weird structures that only the tunnel workers know well. I actually saw all these things, including the worker dragging himself up those stairs ,once again, to his lonely depressing office underground. This painting was chosen out of over 70 other pieces I had on view in a huge one man show, for depiction in a review of my work in Art News. The reviewer saw it's power. Aside from the surealness of the Subway, I am talking about the two paths we always face - The path towards Darkness and the path towards the Light. Many choose the Darkness -- they think it is 'cool' there, colorful, interesting; not aware that it leads to destruction. I have walked down the paths of darkness, but now I choose the Light. Which way do you choose? ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING PRICE: NOT FOR SALE AT THIS TIME
