BETTIN' LARGE, 1997
"Bettin' Large" was partly about how large I could make a cue ball in my painting, seeing if i could get two windows with city views in there, as well as tilting everything on an impossible axis.
Emotionally, it seemed to be about the moment of impact of cue stick to cue ball, and just how intense that is.
Spiritually, I was thinking how sometimes, you only get one chance when the stakes are high, so it better be good.
This piece is also known as "The Big Push" in the printed version. It was published in "Billiards Digest" magazine in September 2001.
