A CHANCE FOR FREEDOM, 1998
This painting, perhaps the wildest of all my pool paintings, was created just after I decided to move from New York to California.
I needed to escape the ''box'' that I felt I was in. I broke away to start anew, thus the title.
On a broader side, this painting is about taking chances in life, rather than playing it safe.
Sometimes life, like pool, must be taken by the horns. The crisp 'whack' of plowing into a pack of colored balls, to me, sounds like a chance for freedom.
